When it is 100 degrees and I am staying inside the house past noon, the inside of the house needs enticements. So I buy flowers from various vendors at the Farmer's Market. This week it was Snap Dragons. Or they were labelled that way. In my day, country gardens had little tight velvety blossoms that looked like tiny jaws. These don't have much of that. When I was small, I couldn't wait to stick my finger inside the blossom to see if it snapped or not. These flowers seems more like tiny gladiolas. They seem like French Impressionist flowers. Still, I am glad for their presence at my table.
