Something new

I went to a cooking class a few weeks ago with a friend of mine. One of the dishes that was demonstrated was baked olives. Never heard of such a thing.Technically, they are a part of a Tapas appetizer. So tonight I cut the recipe way down to go as a side with my spaghetti and garlic bread. But you are supposed to let those olives sit for about 2 hours.

It got cold in Kansas today and it rained! I love it. Cleaned the house and did laundry and ordered online the Christmas gifts I can't find in Lawrence KS.

Typically on a chilly Sunday night I'd be making roast something or other. Midwest soul food, like a roast chicken or arm roast with carrots and potatoes and a fresh vegetable side. But tonight shall be Italian night.

I need to buy some throw rugs for my old dog Bodie so he can get traction on hardwood floors. They need to be thin, with thin rubber backing and machine washable and cheap. I suppose I will weaken and end up at Walmart eventually. I don't like going to Walmart. It seems so dark in there and someone is always mad at their kids for something.

One more hour of staring at my olives til they realize they are going to be marvelous.
I can be ridiculously happy and grateful for the simplest of days.
