Okay. I loved Donna Tartt's Pulitzer prize winner "The Goldfinch" . Loved it. Knew it deserved a Prize, even before it was awarded. I went back to some of her older novels.
This time, "The Secret History". About college students in an elite Greek class at a small NH college. This one scared the pants off me. Has anyone else read it?
Now I have read a lot of Stephen King years ago and I am able to say "Oh, it is just Stephen King and this will look great on screen."
"The Secret History" scared me on a really deep level. College students with secrets going on a binge to try to discover God with a bit of intellectual information. I couldn't put it down. It effected my dreams. I thought it was scary on a deep level. I'd love to hear other opinions. Or maybe I ought to get out more.
Please suggest books with humor or great non-fiction. I have put literature in the closet for now.
